Patio Furniture Cushions For Comfort and Inviting Seating

Ensure the ultimate comfort with patio furniture by choosing appropriate cushions. Common choices are chaise lounges, patio dining chairs and benches.

Polyester fabrics offer excellent resistance against fading, mildew and mold growth; popular examples of such fabric come in an assortment of colors and styles.

Knife Edge

Add them as part of an upgrade that will make your deck pop!

Frontgate patio furniture covers and cushions come with a five year limited warranty against color loss and strength degradation.

Foam

Affordable cushion options exist, but for optimal performance and comfort it is best to invest in high-quality products that will outlive them and last over time. Foam cushions made with high-density foam are an ideal addition to outdoor furniture as they retain their shape better than low-density options while accommodating different fill types for personalized customization of looks and functionality.

High-density foam cushions offer another advantage of quick drying times, and will help prevent mildew growth. If you choose a cushion filled with this material, be sure to regularly clean and dry it completely before storage or reuse.

Low-quality outdoor cushions quickly deteriorate when exposed to moisture from rain or dew, harboring bacteria and mold spores which render them unusable. High-quality cushions, on the other hand, are made of fabrics which offer both water resistance and breathability like Sunbrella, Outdura or Temptoest fabrics; all three provide UV protection that maintains color integrity while repelling moisture that could compromise cushion layers.

Foam Factory offers a premium option called Dryfast that’s designed to reduce bacteria and mold growth. It does this through being antimicrobial and being designed to absorb and release moisture more rapidly than other foam products. Furthermore, Dryfast cannot be glued together in layers to increase thickness because this would interfere with its ability to pass air and drain away water efficiently.

Polyfiber

If your seat cushions require an upgrade, why not opt for polyfiber back cushions instead? Made of 100% polyester UV coated fabric that resists fades, stains, water damage and mildew growth. Sewn circle tacks provide dimension while creating secure compartments to prevent the cushion fill shifting over time and increase durability – string ties also secure them to outdoor chairs securely.

Greendale Home Fashions’ seat/back combination chair cushion features cumuPlush fill, which drains easily, releases moisture efficiently, resists mildew growth and resists mildew – it is an excellent alternative to foam and used on all Standard Comfort cushions/pads sold at Cushion Source.

Polyester

The best patio furniture cushions are constructed using UV protected polyester fabric, which can withstand sunlight and other environmental elements without losing its vibrant colors. Furthermore, this material makes maintenance of Leisure Made seat and back cushion covers easy so they look brand new year after year.

At first, when it comes to cleaning outdoor cushions, the easiest approach is giving them a basic scrub with a garden hose – this should remove most surface dirt and debris. For stubborn stains or marks on cushion covers that persist after thorough hosing-off, soak the covers for 15 to 35 minutes in an equal mixture of washing up liquid and Vanish Oxi-Action powder in water before rinsing out and drying using either a garden hose or dryer before finally giving them another rinse and air dry cycle.

Olefin fabric is another great choice for outdoor cushions as it resists staining and can be cleaned using most household cleaners. Olefin dries quickly, is mildew-proof, and makes the perfect option if you live in an area prone to rainy climates.

Spun polyester fabrics make an excellent option for outdoor cushions, providing the feel and look of cotton with added resistance against fading better than acrylic fabrics and cost less money. Unfortunately, it may cause static electricity when in contact with electrical equipment; furthermore it should be kept away from open flames such as fire pits.

Dacron

When replacing patio furniture cushions, it’s essential to use high-quality fabric that resists fading and moisture. Otherwise, cheaper covers could easily mold or mildew under damp weather or direct sunlight, making your cushions both unattractive and uncomfortable to sit on.

Sunbrella fabric is an excellent choice for outdoor cushions, offering both fade resistance and complete waterproofing capabilities. Furthermore, its antimicrobial properties prevent the formation of mold and mildew growth as well as being safe against chlorine exposure.

Polyester and foam cushion fill are also common choices, as these soft yet inexpensive options easily flatten over time and do not offer proper support. Dacron fill is an alternative – made up of high-grade polyester fiber that gives upholstery foam more of a finished appearance while helping it hold onto its shape over time.

Dacron cushion inserts come in various thicknesses; we advise ordering 1/2″ to 1 1/2″ thick Dacron for best results. Anything thicker may lead to excessive compression during shipment and won’t regain its original form after recovery.

Dacron should be adhered to the top of foam cushions in a layer bonded together, to allow moisture to pass through it and evaporate instead of sitting inside and creating mold and mildew growth. When selecting fabric for tufted back cushions, choose something which won’t be affected by moisture accumulation.
